Music Everywhere!

Music Everywhere! is the name of Helve’s private music studio situated in the north west community of Tuscany. Helve is highly adaptable and able to share and instill a passion and love for music of all styles in others. Her lessons are informative, challenging and a whole bunch of fun! 

 

Helve offers piano lessons as well as music education in theoretical subjects, composition, improvisation, chording, ear training and sight-reading. Incorporating voice, guitar, violin, and rhythm instruments into the piano lessons, the Music Everywhere! studio provides many interactive opportunities to not only foster a life-long love of music, but to create well-rounded musicians. Additionally, she has created an all encompassing beginner’s music program for children four years of age and older that is taught in a small group.

 

Helve is available as an instructor who is comfortable with all levels and ages of students whether in private lessons or in group situations. She teaches comprehensive competitive or noncompetitive private piano lessons. Her lessons accommodate all levels and curriculum parts (including theoretical subjects) of The Royal Conservatory of Music examination system. She focuses equally on the technical and emotional aspects. Helve has high expectations for correct fingering, dynamics, performance practice, musicality, technical requirements, and accuracy in piano playing. She expects precision in theoretical subjects.

 

Helve is very experienced at assessing each student’s abilities and then setting achievement standards for weekly lessons plus long-term goals. Her students have achieved high marks in The Royal Conservatory of Music exams. Some students have won awards or scholarships at different levels in various festivals and competitions. Some have continued on to their Bachelor/Master/Doctorate of Music degrees attending the University of Alberta, McGill University and The Julliard School, NYC. Juno award winning composer Vivian Fung is one of Helve's past students.

 

Helve is also available for additional coaching of students who do not belong to her studio. She has worked with other teachers' students for exam preparation, performance practice sessions, and to problem solve and fine tune ear training and sight reading skills. She is also available to substitute piano teach upon request.
